Brattleboro- Dorothy B. Pollard, a longtime resident of Brattleboro, died early Sunday morning, December 24, 2017 at the Thompson House on Maple Street, she was 99 years old.
Mrs. Pollard was born in Cornish, N.H. on November 13, 1918 the daughter of Clayton and Edith (Cole) Bartlett. She was raised and educated in Cornish and later graduated from the former Baypath Business Institute in Brattleboro.
She had been employed at the Holstein-Friesian Association for many years and was also a devoted homemaker who loved her family.
Mrs. Pollard was a former member of the American Legion, Brattleboro Post #5 Auxiliary and for several years attended First United Methodist Church on Town Crier Drive in Brattleboro.
Of her leisure time interests, she enjoyed alpine and cross-country skiing, gardening, knitting and time spent with her family.
She was married to Wayne B. Pollard who predeceased her in 1983.
Survivors include two sons, Dennis Pollard and his wife Dianne of Marlborough, MA and Douglas Pollard and his wife Marie of West Chesterfield, four grandchildren, Deb DeMelo, Daryl Pollard, Kerri Simonelli and Melissa Bosco, nine great grandchildren and several nieces nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
She was predeceased by one brother, Raymond Bartlett.
In keeping with Mrs. Pollard’s final wishes there are no formal funeral services scheduled. Burial will be in Cornish, N.H. later in the springtime when the cemetery reopens. She will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband.
