Newfane, Edward C. Walker, III "Chip", 55, of Route 30 died unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, April 5, 2017.
Chip was born in Townshend on February 6, 1962, the son of Edward C. and Letitia E. (Slason) Walker. He was raised and educated in South Londonderry.
A licensed massage therapist for the last ten years, he was self-employed serving clients in the southern Vermont area. Prior to establishing his own practice, Chip worked as a para-professional at Kindle Farm School in Newfane. Previously, he had worked at the Stratton Resort in their water treatment plant and in his earlier years had been employed at Cersosimo Lumber Company in Vernon.

An ardent outdoorsman, Chip enjoyed kayaking, hiking, golf, snowboarding and gardening. He was always up for a gathering of friends and family. He loved his dogs. Chip had an appreciation of art and looked forward to attending the monthly "Gallery Walk" events in Brattleboro.
He will be remembered for his kind spirit, helping nature, and friendly personality; he always had a big smile with a warm greeting.
Survivors include his sisters, Judy Cobb (Peter) of South Londonderry, Jean Jordan (Bob) of Landgrove, Betsy Miller (Mark) of Jamaica, Bonnie Stevens (Doug) of South Londonderry. Additional survivors include, aunts, uncles, cousins, nine nieces and nephews, and seven great nieces and nephews.
Chip was predeceased by both parents.
A memorial service in celebration of his life will be conducted Saturday, April 15th at 2:00 pm, at the First Baptist Church/Town Hall at 139 Middletown Road, South Londonderry.
