Brattleboro- Frank Wallace Hildreth, Jr., 55 of South Main Street, a lifelong resident of town died early Friday morning, August 4, 2017 at Brattleboro Memorial Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer.
Frank was born in Brattleboro on April 17, 1962 the son of Frank and Judith (Harris) Hildreth. He attended Brattleboro public schools including Brattleboro Union High School. He later served in the Vermont National Guards, 122 Battalion, 176’Th Armored Division.
He had worked his entire career in the printing industry at the former BookPress in Brattleboro and later for UC Press in Leominster, Massachusetts. He retired early due to the progression of his illness.
Frank loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed hunting. He also collected stamps and baseball cards.
On August 11, 1990 at Saint Michael’s Roman Catholic Church in Brattleboro he was married to Katherine A. Pratt who survives.
Besides his faithful and devoted wife of almost 27 years he leaves his mother of Brattleboro, one son, Devon Longueuil of Brattleboro, one brother, David Hildreth of Brattleboro, a grandson, Marcus Cartner of Brattleboro and a foster daughter. Additionally, he is survived by five nephews and a niece as well as several cousins.
He was predeceased by his father, a brother, Dwayne Hildreth, and a niece Jennifer McHugh.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2:00 P.M. at Saint Michael’s Episcopal Church with Rev. Mary Lindquest, Rector officiating.
