Newfane- John Patrick “Pat” Robinson, 74, of Pickle Hill Road died Monday evening, September 25, 2017 at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Massachusetts. He was airlifted earlier in the day after being stricken ill at his home.
Pat was born in Brattleboro on October 31, 1942 the son of John D. and Irene G. (Jones) Robinson. He attended Saint Michael’s Parochial School and later attended elementary school in Newfane. He was a graduate of Leland & Gray Seminary in Townshend, Class of 1961.
He had been employed for 28 years at the former BookPress in Brattleboro and later worked for Cersosimo Lumber Company on Flat Street where he retired from in 2006.
Pat was a communicant of Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church in Townshend.
He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing and vegetable gardening. Pat used to joke that he grew the best cucumbers because he resided on Pickle Hill.
Pat had a wonderful sense of humor and was known for his spirit of friendship, always ready to help someone in need.
On May 2, 1980 in Brookline, Vermont at a simple service with close family and friends in attendanced he was married to Ellen M. Clark who survives.
Besides his faithful and devoted wife of 37 years he leaves one daughter, Erica Robinson of Brattleboro and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents and a brother, Reilly Robinson who died in infancy.
There are no formal funeral services scheduled. A memorial gathering will take place in the springtime at a date and place to be announced.
