Brattleboro- Sandra Lee, “Sandi” Lake, 65, of Clark Street died unexpectedly at her home on Sunday, January 21, 2018 following a period of declining health.
Sandi was born in Albany, New York on March 9, 1952 the daughter of James and Nancy (Short) Spiak. She was raised and educated in Hinsdale graduating from Hinsdale High School, Class of 1970.
She had been employed as a waitress for several Brattleboro restaurants that included the former Jad’s Restaurant, The Fairfielder and Howard Johnson’s Restaurant. Sandi also worked for Rite-Aide and at the Hinsdale Walmart. In her younger years she modeled clothing for Montgomery Ward in Brattleboro.
Sandi enjoyed the ocean and trips to Hampton Beach, N.H. She was an avid reader and enjoyed walking her beloved pet dogs. Sandi had an incredible love for animals and was often contacted by the Windham County Humane Society to nurse sick and elderly dogs.
Survivors include one son, Ryan Mecheski and his wife Jessica of Danvers, MA, a granddaughter, Charlotte, her father James Spiak and his wife Diane of Brattleboro, one sister Roslyn “Roz” Kennett of Brattleboro and two nephews.
In keeping with Sandi’s final wishes there are no funeral or memorial services planned.
