Vernon - Janice W. Longe, 81, of Vernon Hall, passed away Wednesday afternoon, January 24, 2018.
Janice was born in Northfield, MA on August 3, 1936, the daughter of John and Hazel (Pickett) White. She was raised and educated in Dummerston, Vermont, attending grade school in Slab Hollow and graduating from St. Michael’s High School in Brattleboro. She went on to receive her Bachelor’s Degree from Atlantic Union College in Lancaster, MA.
Janice worked several years as a certified nursing assistant in the Brattleboro area.
Steadfast in her walk of faith, Janice attended and was very dedicated to the Mountain View Seventh-day Adventist Church in Vernon.
She enjoyed being outdoors and had a love for all animals.
Janice was married to Raymond Longe who predeceased her. Previously she was married to Carl Tvedt who also predeceased her.
She is survived by her sister, Carol Chamberlin of Brattleboro and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Janice was predeceased by two brothers, Thomas White and Lewis White.
A memorial service will be conducted Saturday, February 10th at 2:00 p.m. at Mountain View Seventh-day Adventist Church, 1002 Fort Bridgeman Road, Vernon, VT 05354 with Pastor Art Miller officiating. Graveside services in Dummerston Center Cemetery will be conducted in the springtime when the cemetery reopens. Please contact Pastor Miller in the spring for more information.
