Jamaica- Thomas Edward, “Tom” Fletcher, 70, of West Hill Road South in Jamaica died Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at Grace Cottage Hospital in Townshend following an extended illness.
Tom was born in Brattleboro on December 9, 1947 the son of Edward E. and Doris (Murphy) Fletcher. He was raised and educated in Vernon until his family moved to the West River Area where he attended Leland & Gray High School.
He had been employed at Cersosimo Lumber Company in Vernon and previously he worked for Arthur Brooks Excavating and Landscaping in the West River Valley. Tom also had been employed at Bromley Mountain working in the area’s ski shop.
Tom loved the outdoors especially hunting, fishing and gardening. He was known for being a hard worker.
Survivors include one brother, Raymond Fletcher of Jamaica, a sister, Sandra Johnson and her husband Kenneth of Saxtons River, and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents and one sister, Katherine Gleason.
Graveside committal services and burial will be conducted in Houghtonville Cemetery Route 121 in Grafton in the springtime at a date and time to be announced by the funeral home.
