Brattleboro- Patricia Ann, “Pat” Werden, 77, of Westgate Drive died early Tuesday morning, April 17, 2018 at Pine Heights, with her family by her side following a lengthy illness.

Pat was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut on February 20, 1941 the daughter of Arthur and Angela (English) Donofrio. She was raised and educated in Easton, Connecticut graduating from Andrew Ward High School with the Class of 1959. She went on to earn her Associates degree in secretarial science from Dean Junior College in Franklin, Massachusetts.

For many years she worked for Ursula Dalem at Dalem’s Chalet on South Street in West Brattleboro, a position she thoroughly enjoyed, becoming a close friend of Mrs. Dalem.

Pat was a longtime communicant of Saint Michael’s Roman Catholic Church and was an active member of the Westgate Association.

Of her leisure time activities, she loved to bowl and was active for several years with the Brattleboro Bowling League, and also enjoyed time spent with her fiancé Jerry Dunham.

Survivors include one daughter, Christine Bachman (Kevin) of N. Branford, CT, two sons, William Werden of West Brattleboro and Michael Werden (Megan) of Northfield, MA, two sisters, Mary Beth Bennett (Joseph) of Port St Lucie, FL and Marcia Hanson (Donald) of Putney, one grandson, Quinn, her fiancé Jerry Dunham of Brattleboro and five nieces.

A celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, May 20th from 12 Noon until 2 PM at the F.O. Eagles on Chickering Drive. Pat will also be remembered during the 10:30 AM Mass that same morning at Saint Michaels Church where two memorial candles will be lit in her memory.

Pat’s family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the staff and management at Pine Heights Nursing Home and BAYADA Hospice for the excellent care she received during her stay at the facility.
