Lebanon, N.H. - Lois R. Draper, 85, of Western Avenue, a native of town died early Monday morning, September 17, 2018 at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon.
Lois was born in Brattleboro on November 7, 1932 the daughter of Harold and Grace (Call) Pike. She was raised in Brattleboro, attending public schools and was a graduate of Brattleboro High School, Class of 1951.
She was a faithful and devoted wife and loving mother and grandmother whose life centered around her family. Lois was an accomplished artist and enjoyed painting with oils. She also was a gifted poet and throughout the years penned many poems.
With her husband she was a former resident of Moosup, Connecticut and was a member of the Moosup Baptist Church. Steadfast in her walk of faith she shared the gospel with many. Lois loved animals especially her beloved Jack Russell terrier “Ginger.”
On March 5, 1951 at the Greenfield Christian and Missionary Alliance Church she was married to Joshua Draper who survives.
Besides her husband of 67 years she leaves three sons, William Draper of Gill, Massachusetts, Paul Draper of Cobleskill, New York and James Draper of Woodstock, Connecticut, one sister, Jean Vandervalk of Brattleboro, five grandchildren, four great grandchildren and three nephews.
Lois was predeceased by her great granddaughter, Kaitlyn Goodnow.
Graveside committal services will be conducted Monday at 11:00 A.M. in Christ Church Cemetery in the Algiers section of Guilford with pastor Bill Steele of the Green Mountain Chapel of the Christian and Missionary Alliance officiating.
