Westminster - David J. Wallace, 72, of Lower Trail Road in Westminster, died Friday afternoon, July 5, 2019 at the Thompson House following a period of declining health.
David was born in Goffstown, New Hampshire on September 11, 1946, the son of Joseph and Hazel (Colburn) Wallace. He was raised and educated in the Goffstown area where he attended public schools.
A former resident of Guilford, David moved to Westminster in 2005. He had worked as a machine operator for Fibermark in Brattleboro, joining the company when it was owned by the Boise Cascade Company. He retired from Fibermark in 2011 following many years of faithful service with the company.
David was mechanically inclined and enjoyed tinkering and repairing anything that needed to be fixed. He also liked to garden and assisted with the flower gardens at the Thompson House.
In 1991 in Guilford, he was married to Barbara Grant who predeceased him in July of 2017.
Survivors include one daughter, Laura Wallace of Jaffrey, N.H., a stepson, Richard Parsons of Vernon, one step-daughter, Kimberly Gassett of Hinsdale, seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Debra J. Wallace in 2003, two brothers, Howard and Edward and a sister, Jean.
A graveside service will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 27th in Dummerston Center Cemetery.
