Michael Atamaniuk was born and raised in Brattleboro. In 1986 he entered the prestigious Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science in Cincinnati, Ohio, the oldest and most respected funeral service college. He graduated with a Bachelors degree in Mortuary Science. In 1990 Michael attended the National Foundation School of Funeral Service management in Evanston, Illinois, graduating in October of that year. In May of 1994, he attained the distinguished honor of becoming a Certified Funeral Service Practitioner through the Academy of Professional Funeral Service Practice, the first licensee in the state of Vermont to be awarded this certification. Michael holds a funeral director and embalmers license in both Vermont and the state of Connecticut.
